How The Powerhouse changed how I think

 

I never really thought a place could change the way I see stuff… until I found The Powerhouse in Washington, Indiana. At first, I didn’t think it was anything special — just a building where kids hung out after school. But once I started going, it honestly started to change the way I think.

The Powerhouse isn’t just about games or fun — it’s about being around people who want to get better and learn how to make smart choices. Everyone there has their own story, and everyone is trying to grow in some way. Being around that made me stop and think: what am I really doing with my time? What do I want to do with my ideas and my energy?

Before The Powerhouse, I used to just do stuff without thinking much about why. Now, I think more about my choices, my goals, and how I can actually make things that matter — not just for me, but for the people around me too.

Being part of a place like this also made me realize that your mindset is just as important as your skills. If you’re around people who believe in you, who push you to be better, it makes you want to do better too.

Now, I don’t just do things randomly. I try to do them with purpose. The Powerhouse helped me see that even small changes in how you think can make a big difference in your life. It’s more than just a place to hang out — it’s a place that changes how you see the world.
