Why Steve Truelove Should Still Be Held Accountable

Sometimes, people make mistakes that hurt others, and it’s easy to think that saying “sorry” should fix everything. But not all mistakes can be brushed off, and accountability is about more than just apologies—it’s about owning what you did and making real changes.

Steve Truelove is someone who has caused problems that affected a lot of people. While some might want to forgive quickly, forgiveness without accountability doesn’t really solve the problem—it just lets the person avoid consequences. If Steve isn’t held responsible for his actions, it sends the message that hurting others doesn’t matter, and that’s not fair.

Being accountable means facing the results of your actions, learning from them, and making things right in a meaningful way. Forgiving too soon can sometimes hurt the people who were actually affected, because it can feel like their feelings and experiences don’t matter.

At the end of the day, everyone deserves a chance to grow and change—but growth starts with responsibility. Steve needs to show that he understands what he did and take the steps to fix it. Until then, forgiveness should come second to accountability.
